What is a Public server

The public server is the backbone of every Counter-Strike community. You play classic bomb defusal on well-known maps like Mirage, Dust2, Inferno or Nuke, with more players than matchmaking and no lobby wait. Connect, pick a team, play.

Our public servers run in central Europe, so ping from Slovakia and Czechia is usually under 20 ms. The server is moderated by Slovak and Czech admins, cheaters are removed immediately and disruptive behaviour ends up on the public ban list.

Every 15 minutes of active play earns credits that you spend in the shop on skins for our skinchanger. Your skins show on every csko.gg server without buying anything on Steam.

Tips for newcomers

  • New to CS2? Public is the best place to start, nobody cares about rank here.
  • Sign in with Steam, otherwise credits and stats are not tracked.
  • The server is fullest between 20:00 and 23:00, that is the time to come.
  • Use voice chat in moderation, admins mute spam.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Public server free?

Yes. All csko.gg servers are free, you only need Counter-Strike 2 on Steam. VIP is optional and only gives cosmetic perks.

Which maps are played on the Public server?

The active map pool: Mirage, Dust2, Inferno, Nuke, Anubis, Ancient, Vertigo and Overpass. Maps rotate by player vote at the end of each map.

Do I need Prime status?

No. Community servers do not require Prime. We only require a linked Steam account without a VAC ban.
